All of our electricity plans our contract fee, cancel anytime without penalty! Our fixed rate natural gas plans have an early exit penalty, however our variable natural gas plans do not.

A deposit is a refundable amount collected at the start of service to help guarantee payment for the electricity or natural gas you use. It’s a common practice among energy retailers in Alberta.
Your deposit:
- Helps us keep your energy rates lower by reducing risk and regulatory costs
- Is fully refundable when you cancel service, provided your account is paid in full
- Is not a fee and does not apply toward usage or bills — it’s simply held as a security measure
The amount of the deposit depends on the type of service (electricity or natural gas) and whether the account is residential, business, or farm-related.

Six Eight Energy will report the switch on your behalf and let your current retailer know the
switch date, however, consumers should always check the Terms and Conditions of
their existing agreements to determine the cancellation policy with their current retailer.
